The move from painting into printmaking was the start of a journey into working both in layers of meaning and that of plate over plate to realise images.
The alchemy of some of the traditional etching processes, the warmth of the colour of copper into which the lines and textures are formed, inclusion of contemporary processes and the coaxing of the ink out of the marks onto the paper from the mighty forces of the press are all parts of the magic. I remain fascinated by life, natural phenomena and forms, sound waves and their interpretation and absorption into cultures.
My print workshop is attached to my rural village home, and into which I invite small group of artist friends to use my press. It is open to the public during Somerset Arts Weeks or by appointment .
